Suh’s kick to Schaub’s Thanksgiving Turkey under review

Ndamukong Suh has done it again. After being kicked out of a Thanksgiving Day loss to the Packers last season for stomping on the arm of Packer lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith, Suh is in the spotlight this Thanksgiving for kicking Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub right in his “Thanksgiving Turkey.”

Suh is often regarded as the dirtiest player in the NFL and because of his antics, the evil empire known as the NFL places his every move underneath a microscope. In this case, Suh tried to work his way through guard Ben Jones and right tackle Derek Newton as Schaub dropped back to pass. As Suh was blocked down and tried to use his hands to stabilize himself, his motion spun his legs into the quarterback; thus sending his left foot into the giblets of Matt Shaub.

So now the NFL and the greed that follows is stepping in to review the kick. Ray Anderson, the vice president of football operations stated, “It didn’t look good.” I agree it didn’t look good; however, when does it ever look good to see a guy take a shot to the groin. Just because every guy in America cringed seeing Schaub go down doesn’t mean it justin_forsett_downwas an intentional shot by Suh. I do have an idea though, just like I have always said about guys who refuse to wear knee and thigh pads, wear a cup and maybe it won’t hurt as much.

Maybe you won’t agree with me on this.  You might say, “Oh, he must be a Detroit fan or an Ndamukong Suh fan.” That couldn’t be any farther from the truth. I despise both and I am actually a Matt Schaub fan; however, I understand that similar to the helmet-to-helmet hit, you cannot stop the motion of an athlete or change direction when you only have a split second to react. Sometimes people get hit in the head…..sometimes they kicked in the junk. It’s part of the game. As for the business side of the NFL, who most likely were the guys that were getting hurt in their high school glory days, maybe you should review the call that allowed the touchdown score of Houston runningback Justin Forsett when it was clear that his knee was down.  That was the difference in the game and the real “kick in the nuts!”
